Well, perhaps I can help! I’m Laura Benjamin and I’ve been coaching private individuals, business owners, executive directors and community leaders for over two decades. I’ve spent a lifetime helping people identify and leverage their talents or communicate and promote the benefits of a person, a program, a product or service.

What makes me qualified to help in this way? Well….

I’ve been doing this kind of work as a coach and consultant since starting my first business in 1997. While I began with the intention of training and speaking professionally, folks started contacting me to help them through private coaching. While I still train and speak professionally, I discovered that I enjoyed working with individuals and facilitating smaller groups.

And I’ve always been the “helper”, facilitative, guardian type…

As a paralegal and claims manager in the US Air Force, I supported military members who’d had their household goods lost, damaged, dumped in the ocean or set on fire during change of station transfers from one assignment to another. Once I even helped a farmer who swore an Air Force sonic boom stopped his chickens from laying eggs. (We decided to pay that claim!)

In the late 1980’s, I was a Senior Benefits Specialist at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester NY. I helped surviving spouses, new hires, faculty, retirees and our deaf/hearing impaired professionals better understand and get the best from their employee benefits programs.

When I moved to Denver in 1993, I became a career marketing coach for an outplacement firm. I helped job seekers, career changers and layoff survivors identify, quantify and communicate their skills, experience and accomplishments. I listened to their concerns, fears and frustrations as they struggled to find work or change careers.

Colorado Springs became home in 1994. As a Customer Service and Sales Rep at Checks Unlimited and Current, I took inbound calls and helped customers resolve order problems or billing concerns. Soon promoted to Sales and Service Team Manager at Current’s Social Expressions Call Center, I then managed a team of 100+ sales and service agents. My job was to help my employees help our customers, to build confidence and competence, to grow and develop.

You see how what I do now is a natural fit? In October 1997, I was a middle level manager one Friday morning and a self-employed single parent later that afternoon! Since that time, I’ve been privileged to help people get what they want, maximize talents, work through challenges and lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

How will we work together?

First, we’ll have a chat via phone or in person. I’d like to learn more about the challenges you face and the goals you want to achieve. Then, we’ll map out a plan and specify the objectives – this is the “how will you know when you’re successful?” discussion.

I work with clients in person, by phone, through online learning and webinar classes. I will also meet with out of state clients who would like to visit Colorado for concentrated sessions over a 2-3 day period.

My fees are based on the individual needs of my clients and the requirements of our work together.
